Project: Passion for Public Portraits

For almost the past 3 months I have been seeing this beautiful person who has taught me a lot about myself and rekindled my passion for drawing people.

Images of Me Project

It has been a long time since I have been passionate about anything creative.

This past year I have found the heat and fire within through dancing.  In the past few months it has opened up a spot in myself I have not seen in a long time or ever before.  I am so excited to start painting, sculpting, and performing again!  As you might have figured my interests reside in the seductive and spirit of the human face and body.  That being said, I am dreaming up works that embrace the true nature of my interest with human forms.  Learning how to lead in swing dancing has given me new insights into what this passion is all about.

While investigating I went through my google photos from the past year and noticed I had so many pictures of my face.  I want to share these with you.  I am hoping that showing these all in one place will give me some further revelations about what my art work will capture and what my message is all about.

Have fun and enjoy!

2012-2013: I forgot - I have actually done some art work! Amazing...

Okay, although I have been focused on being the Treasurer of the Art League and starting a Part-time business as a bookkeeper, I have also been doing some art work.  I think I like these the most because they were done with little intention.  I just wanted to be with all the people I love, doing a fun thing- drawing people's faces!  My all time favorite!

I put these in order by date because I find it interesting- maybe you will?

These are available for purchase as copies for $10.00 each and 1.00 shipping plus tax (6.35%).  Just make sure to specify this page name as " I forgot" and name of picture, example- "Man 1".   The 50% of the proceeds will go toward the Art League of New Britain (non-profit) and the rest will go toward my continual work.

The last time I have drawn is in May 2013.  That is sad!  I have to do this weekly... As you can see when I do, I get better quickly!  I like seeing that transition.

Thanks for sharing this with me...

New Paintings from Open Sessions

The two female paintings are of the same model during different open painting sessions.
The two male paintings are not of the same person. The last one was the last painting I did. I like that one the most out of all of them, because it seems to be more finalized. This model might come back for this weekend and I will decide if I will work with a new painting or develop this one further. Showing these together makes me realize I have been working.

Open Painting Atelier

I came to Open Painting this past Saturday without any expectations.

It was hard to even get into my car to go. I realized though that my brushes were clean and my marks were more articulate. I was actually happy at the end. The model might come back. This won't be for a while though since we already have models booked for the next 3 weeks.

I enjoyed this painting the most
